This panda was actually inspired by the paintings of American artist Grant Wood, unlikely as it first might appear. According to the artist, "I envisioned modern suburban landscapes as if Wood had painted them. As the series progressed over the years, the pictures left the `burbs and headed into the city. Instead of cookie-cutter houses, pools and satellite dishes, now I painted spaghetti highways, buildings and road signs. And so my panda features an impossible tangle of elevated roads, replete with helpful signage to get you home."
